2016 saw a brand new layout which everyone loved. With a few tweaks this year we’ll make it even better.

The Polo

‘The matches are fast and furious, and the extra-large orange ball, designed not to get lost in the sand, flies around at speeds of up to 100mph..’
The Guardian

Polo played in an enclosed arena has been referred to as ‘Ice Hockey on Horse Back’. Spectators are close to the action – they can fully appreciate the horsemanship, speed and gladiatorial nature of Polo. The polo ponies love the sand - they can accelerate and stop fast and can turn extremely sharply. The thrill and excitement of horses galloping on the sand with the English Channel as a backdrop, whilst sipping champagne amongst glamorous company, is a vision to remember – an intoxicating mix. Polo players engage with the sponsors and spectators both on and off the pitch.

The Location

‘Only one sport is glamorous enough for the platinum peninsula of Sandbanks’
The Times

Sandbanks is probably the most exclusive beach community in the UK. The infamous peninsular extends out across Poole Harbour on the scenic Dorset coast. It boasts upmarket luxurious homes and pristine ‘Blue Flag’ beaches. Poole is easily accessible with a fast rail connection (100 minutes direct from London Waterloo), good road access (30 minutes from Southampton) and 2 International airports within 45 minutes.

International Beach Volleyball 2017

Now a regular attraction, The Beach Volleyball keeps everyone entertained when the ponies are resting. With this sport proving a sell out at The Olympics it’s a must see spectacle when played on the white sands at Sandbanks. Watch this space to see who’ll be showcasing this glamorous sport in 2017.

The Parties

The beach parties that wrap up both days are legendary. Kicking off at 7.00pm with the last of the revellers leaving the beach at 1am top DJ’s entertain the huge crowds that stay on for the evening. A great opportunity to mingle with the players and celebrities and not to be missed.

This year we are delighted to be supporting the Household Cavalry Foundation (HCF).

Serving soldiers from The Life Guards and The Blues and Royals will be on hand and taking part in fund raising activities not least the 4x4 V pony charity race and the auction. The HCF exists to provide charitable and pastoral support to all the members of Household Cavalry family: serving Soldiers, Operational Casualties and Veterans. The Foundation also supports the protection and development of the rich heritage that surrounds the history of its Regiments and the welfare of retired horses.

The Household Cavalry is famous worldwide for both outstanding ceremonial duties and pageantry, and gallantry on the battlefield; the same soldiers seen on parade on state occasions also risk their lives for our country on the front line
